The National Observatory of Athens was established in 1842 and was the first research Institution in Greece. In 2017, 46.000 plants, fruits and vegetables were planted in its surrounding area as a part of the «Theater of Disappearance» project, while 11 cave sculptures have been placed in the Caves of Nymphs.
