1980
Foundation of EMM. KOUVIDIS S.A. by electrician-installer Emmanouel Kouvidis. With no experience and minimal know-how but with the vision to create reliable products and serve the local market of Crete, the first light type conduits for flush installations are produced in a warehouse in Tylissos.
1985
Production of the first version of the DUROFLEX medium type conduit, paving the way to the rest of Greece. Outlining of the first commercial approach and creation of the first distribution channel.
1990
After ten years of constant development, establishment of the first distribution centre in Athens and production of the state-of-the-art CONDUR-CONFLEX heavy type series challenging the dominance of steel conduits. Harmonization of the production process with European Standards for the first time in Greece.
1995
Expansion of the CONDUR-CONFLEX heavy type series to include a full range of fittings for the Ø16 to Ø63 cross-sections, and production of the HYDROFLEX, the first conduit for hydraulic use. Strategic organisation of the company with authorisation of the first dedicated sales points throughout Greece.
2000
Following 20 years of healthy operation, relocation of the company to new privately-owned 15000 m2 state-of-the-art installations in Tylissos, Herakleion. Renewal of all mechanical equipment, harmonisation of the entire production process in accordance with European Directives and Standards: the company introduces an industry first in affixing the CE marking to all its products.
2005
With the passing of the management to the next generation, Kostas and Maria Kouvidis, the company becomes a societe anonyme with a new outlook. The certification to quality management system ISO 9001, the creation of a privately-owned truck fleet and the production of the first medium type conduits and new junction boxes mark the beginning of a new growth trajectory.
2010
Backed by 30 years of operation the company breaks new ground. Building on its full range of integrated light, medium and heavy duty conduit systems the company moves on to the manufacture of products for fields with special requirements, providing reliable solutions for specialized areas. At the same time, all products bear the seal of approval of the independent German institute VDE.
New distribution centre in Thessaloniki, new representatives in Romania and Cyprus and automation of the entire production process.
Fully adopting the principles of total quality, the company implements ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 systems in all company activities and designs its products with full respect for man and the environment.
